Location: Remote – Latin America

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Head of Engineering

Collaboration: Product, Mobile, Web, Backend, Trust & Safety, and Support

Overview

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to help build a more disciplined, scalable approach to product quality across mobile applications and platform services.

In this role, you will combine exploratory testing, automation, API testing, and release validation to help ensure that new features and product changes are reliable, secure, and ready for users. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to identify risk early, strengthen regression coverage, improve automated testing, and provide clear visibility into product quality before releases. Engineers remain responsible for the quality of the code they deliver, while QA provides independent verification, testing expertise, and quality leadership across the product.

Mission

Make releases more dependable through risk-based testing, maintainable automation, and clear evidence of product quality across mobile applications and backend services.

What You’ll Do

Testing & Quality Assurance

Plan and execute exploratory, functional, regression, API, and mobile testing.

Test across multiple devices, operating systems, browsers, and network conditions.

Identify high-risk areas and prioritize testing based on potential user and business impact.

Validate critical user journeys across the product.

Verify fixes and perform regression testing before releases.

Maintain clear documentation of test coverage, results, and known risks.

Test Automation

Develop and maintain automated tests for critical product workflows.

Build reliable automated checks for mobile applications, APIs, and platform services.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows.

Investigate and resolve flaky or unreliable tests.

Maintain reusable test data and testing infrastructure.

Continuously improve the balance between automated and exploratory testing.

Defect Management

Identify, document, and communicate defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.

Partner with engineers to investigate issues and identify potential root causes.

Verify fixes and ensure that resolved defects do not introduce regressions.

Track recurring issues and identify opportunities to improve product quality upstream.

Release Quality

Participate in release planning and readiness reviews.

Define and communicate release risks, unresolved defects, and testing gaps.

Help establish measurable quality standards and release criteria.

Provide clear recommendations based on testing evidence and risk.

Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure quality is considered throughout the development lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product and Engineering to define clear acceptance criteria.

Work with developers to improve testability and prevent recurring defects.

Collaborate with Support and Trust & Safety to identify patterns in customer-reported issues.

Contribute to accessibility, performance, security, and reliability testing.

Help establish QA processes and best practices as the engineering organization grows.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing.

Strong experience with both exploratory testing and automated testing.

Experience testing mobile applications and APIs.

Programming experience sufficient to design, write, debug, and maintain automated tests.

Working knowledge of Git, code review, and CI/CD workflows.

Experience developing software and automated tests both with and without AI-assisted coding tools.

Ability to effectively use generative AI and coding assistants while maintaining ownership

of the resulting code.

Strong understanding of how to review, test, debug, and validate AI-generated code.

Ability to identify potential security, reliability, and maintainability issues in AI-assisted development.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

AI-Assisted Engineering

We actively use modern AI development tools to increase engineering productivity.

The right candidate should be comfortable working in an environment where AI-assisted development is part of the engineering workflow.

You should be able to:

Use coding assistants and agentic development tools effectively.

Independently design, write, debug, and maintain test code.

Review and validate AI-generated code rather than relying on it blindly.

Identify incorrect, insecure, or unreliable AI-generated implementations.

Maintain accountability for the correctness and maintainability of all testing work.

Protect proprietary code, credentials, customer information, and other sensitive data when using AI tools.

Nice to Have

Experience testing social, creator, media, or consumer applications.

Experience with real-time features such as messaging, notifications, feeds, or live interactions.

Experience testing monetization, subscriptions, payments, or creator payouts.

Experience with mobile automation frameworks.

Experience with API testing and service-level automation.

Experience working with cloud-based applications and distributed systems.

Familiarity with accessibility and performance testing.

Experience establishing QA processes within a growing engineering organization.

Success in this role will include:

Establishing reliable regression coverage for agreed-upon critical user journeys.

Reducing high-severity defects reaching production against an established baseline.

Integrating stable and valuable automated checks into the development and release process.

Improving test coverage and test-suite reliability over time.

Making release risk, testing gaps, and unresolved defects visible before launch.

Establishing repeatable QA practices that scale as the product and engineering organization grow.

First 90 Days

Days 1–30: Understand & Baseline

Learn the product, architecture, release process, and critical user journeys.

Review existing defects and customer-reported issues.

Assess current automated and manual test coverage.

Identify flaky or unreliable tests.

Establish an initial quality baseline and identify the highest-risk areas.

Days 31–60: Build & Improve

Automate priority regression scenarios.

Improve existing automated test reliability.

Establish consistent defect reporting and verification practices.

Begin participating in release-risk reviews.

Partner with engineering to identify opportunities to prevent recurring defects.

Days 61–90: Integrate & Measure

Integrate stable automated checks into CI/CD.

Establish repeatable release-quality checks.

Demonstrate measurable progress against agreed quality targets.

Provide recommendations for the next phase of QA automation and process improvements.

Reporting & Collaboration

Reports directly to the Head of Engineering as an individual contributor.

Works closely with Mobile, Web, Backend, Product, Support, and Trust & Safety teams.

Partners with engineers throughout the development lifecycle rather than only testing at the end of a release.

Contributes to establishing quality standards and processes across the engineering organization.

Why Join?

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape how quality is practiced across a growing technology product—not simply execute test cases.

You’ll work closely with engineers and product leaders, influence release processes, build meaningful automation, and help create a testing culture that allows teams to move quickly while maintaining a reliable experience for users.
