We are seeking a detail-driven Quality Control (QC) Specialist 4 to perform in-process and final quality inspections at our Bessemer, AL manufacturing facility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with Quality Engineers and engineering stakeholders on drawing discrepancies, specification conflicts, and quality escapes within their specialist domain; provide technical input to design and process changes.
  • Provide specialist-domain technical input to inspection standards, work instructions, and corrective action guidance as requested by the QC Supervisor.
  • Apply and enforce stop-work authority independently for quality issues in their domain; document holds and escalate to QC Lead with full technical justification.
  • Own QNC entry, tracking, and closure accuracy in Autodesk Forma (ACC/BIM 360) for all issues within their specialist domain on assigned shifts.
  • Participate in QFL issue intake, root cause facilitation, and countermeasure verification within their domain; report findings and status to the QC Lead.
  • Maintain currency in applicable codes, standards, and BLOX procedures within their specialist track; flag outdated or conflicting documentation to the QC Supervisor.
  • Comply with all BLOX safety policies and procedures. Perform any and all additional duties assigned by the QC Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Majority of work performed on the manufacturing plant floor (non-conditioned space), requiring extended walking, standing, and close visual inspection.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and climb step ladders.
  • Full-time, non-exempt. Core hours Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with extended or flexible hours as required.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 12 months at BLOX as QC Technician II, or 3+ years equivalent external specialist experience in the applicable trade domain.
  • Selection of one specialist track; demonstrated proficiency in the technical standards, codes, and inspection criteria of that track.
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving (5-Why, 8D, One-Pager) with documented examples.
  • Full proficiency in Autodesk Forma (ACC/BIM 360), Dozuki, and HoloBuilder.
  • Successful completion of BLOX QC Level 4 Specialist Certification Exam (track-specific) with minimum composite score of 80%.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Construction Management, or relevant trade engineering field.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification; CQE enrollment is a differentiator.
  • Trade-specific credential or licensure appropriate to specialist track (e.g., journeyman electrical, AWS CWI for Structural/Welding track).
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Power BI, or quality data analytics in a production environment.
