This role is responsible for conducting independent quality assessments of completed client files, ensuring they meet regulatory expectations, internal policies, and operational standards before final approval.

The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening quality controls, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting the delivery of a robust financial crime compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct quality reviews of completed due diligence files, including higher-risk customers, politically exposed persons (PEPs), complex ownership structures, and individuals or entities subject to adverse media or sanctions considerations.

Assess the quality and completeness of customer risk assessments, source of wealth/source of funds evidence, beneficial ownership verification, and overall case rationale.

Review screening outcomes and ensure decisions, escalations, and risk-related findings are appropriately documented and supported.

Capture and report quality review outcomes, categorising findings according to materiality and risk impact.

Provide constructive feedback and coaching to case analysts, supporting improvements in accuracy and consistency.

Monitor recurring themes and error trends, contributing to process enhancements, guidance updates, and training initiatives.

Produce quality assurance reporting and management information, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of focus.

Maintain awareness of evolving AML and financial crime regulatory requirements and ensure these are reflected within quality review standards.

Assist with internal reviews, audits, regulatory enquiries, and assurance activities where required.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience within KYC, CDD, EDD, Financial Crime Operations, or a related compliance environment.

Strong understanding of AML regulations, risk-based due diligence principles, and enhanced due diligence requirements.

Experience reviewing complex client structures, source of wealth/source of funds information, and adverse media findings.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to evaluate information critically and make balanced risk-based assessments.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and actionable feedback.

Comfortable working with client lifecycle management and screening platforms.

Experience within a quality control, quality assurance, oversight, or review function would be advantageous.

Relevant AML, KYC, or financial crime qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
