We're hiring
We have an immediate need for a full-time Quality Inspector. This position's regularly scheduled shift is second shift; typically Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM - 12:30 AM.
Your purpose is to protect the integrity of the Barbasol brands by maintaining the highest quality standards of our products through your thorough inspection of raw materials and finished goods, and accurate completion of required documentation. Your focus on precision and attention to detail will be relied upon throughout the production process.
A few of the specific responsibilities include:
- Understand and comply with safe working procedures including but not limited to wearing correct PPE, knowing emergency evacuation procedures, and utilizing safe lifting techniques.
- Inspect components, raw materials and finished goods, and document results.
- Release or reject finished goods based on company quality standards and SOPs.
- Assist in the development of Quality Documentation such as SOPs, Forms and Work Instructions.
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the Quality Facilities and on the Production Lines.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with Lead Line Operators and Line Operators are crucial to preventing or minimizing disruptions due to quality issues and are key to your success in this role.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Demonstrated success in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality inspection or similar role, as typically acquired by three or more years’ experience is required.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and/or 5S environment preferred.
Functional Skills:
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA practices.
- Mathematical skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Able to understand and use standard inspection and measurement equipment.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and be flexible in job roles.
- Critical-thinking to consider possible causes of an issue and act quickly.
Work Environment
The job requires exposure to a manufacturing facility requiring a heightened awareness of safety and taking the necessary safety precautions as required by all employees and visitors. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Communicates orally and electronically with co-workers, clients and vendors in face-to-face, one-on-one, e-mail, telephone or group settings.
- The employee regularly must be able to complete the following activities in the course of his/her job: working from heights, lifting, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, feeling, grasping, talking, hearing within normal ranges, and repetitive motion.
- The position requires Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and or a 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
