At IBM Quantum we build utility scale (> 100 qubit) quantum computer systems comprised of superconducting qubits cooled to 10mK in dilution refridgerators and controlled by microwave pulses produced from advanced racks of room temperature electronics. Our team at IBM quantum working on building, deploying and calibrating these systems is looking for a summer intern on our subteam working on system assembly and test. In this role you will help build out our quantum systems by assembling mechanical and wiring components inside the dilution refridgerator. You will help test and troubleshoot those installations and perform investigative studies on methodologies to improve our assemblies. Candidate for this role is required to have the following expertise: Studies in EE, Physics,Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline Proficient in electrical test and design of experiments Programming knowledge for test automation Experience troubleshooting complex systems Desire/interest to work in the field of system assembling and validation Candidate for this role would also benefits from the following expertise: General knowledge of microwave circuits, incl. components and test equipment Understanding of circuit design principles Knowledge of Python and linux shell Experience with cryogenic systems United States Security Internship POUGHKEEPSIE, US (0147) International Business Machines Corporation
