Help our players bring their best game to the court! The Crystal Lake Park District is seeking a detail-oriented Racket Club Stringer to provide quality tennis racket stringing, gripping, and customization services. If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in precision, and have an interest in tennis equipment, this could be your perfect match!
What You’ll Do
String tennis rackets according to requested tension, string type, and pattern specifications.
Complete approximately 5–20 rackets per week, typically within a 24–48-hour turnaround.
Work efficiently to meet the standard of completing individual racket repairs within 30 minutes.
Inspect racket frames and grommets for wear or damage before stringing.
Replace grips, overgrips, bumper guards, and grommets, and apply stencils as needed.
Track string setups, tension history, and completion status in the pro shop system.
Keep stringing machines calibrated and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
What You’ll Bring
One or more years of tennis racket stringing experience preferred; training may be provided.
Knowledge of tennis string types, gauges, tension retention, and racket specifications.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work.
Good judgment, problem-solving skills, and safety awareness.
Ability to perform work involving prolonged standing, precise hand movements, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
