Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,877.80 - £30,868.31 per annum

Croft House is a 12-hour Supported Housing service located in East Molesey – Elmbridge borough of Surrey County.

We support both men and women who have a primary diagnosis of mental health illnesses and are subject to the Care Program Approach (both standard and enhanced).

People we support may also have difficulties managing tenancies and secondary issues such as substance use, or actively engage with professional recovery programmes like I-Access or Catalyst.

About the Role

This role involves providing person-centred, strengths-based support to people using our services, helping them achieve their goals, improve their quality of life and develop greater independence. You will support individuals with their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, while helping them build practical and emotional life skills.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure people receive the right support, while contributing to the safe, effective and positive day-to-day running of the service. The role is underpinned by our values of Kindness, Courage and Respect .

What You’ll Do

  • Provide person-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs, strengths and goals.
  • Support people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, accessing services and engaging with their community.
  • Promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
  • Encourage choice, control and active participation in decision-making.
  • Support people to achieve their goals and make positive changes in their lives.
  • Assess and manage risk appropriately, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
  • Work closely with colleagues, external agencies and other professionals to provide effective support.
  • Contribute positively to team working, handovers and the overall delivery of the service.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and work in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
  • Contribute to the safe and effective day-to-day running of the service.

What We’re Looking For

Essential skills and experience:

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • A compassionate approach when supporting people through sensitive and complex situations.
  • Ability to motivate, support and advocate for people using services.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Good organisational, IT and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your workload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience of promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people or people with complex needs.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Qualification or accredited training in mental health, substance misuse or recovery support.
