Recreation Assistant (Outdoor) NF-02

Summary

This position is located at USAG Stuttgart - MWR, Outdoor Recreation, Kelley Barracks Stuttgart, Germany. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Duties

• •Works under general supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as a Recreation Assistant, instructing groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs;
• •such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, challenge course, using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to participants who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.
• •Teaches children as well as adults.
• •Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.
• •Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess experience in hunting and fishing and teaching/instructing courses to customers Possess a hunting/fishing license, and with the ability to obtain and maintain a German hunting and fishing license Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program will be considered highly qualified. Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager.
