Recreation Assistant (Ski/Snowboard Instructor) NF-02

Summary

This position is located at the Birch Hill Ski & Snowboard Area on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Duties

• •Instructs groups and individuals in daily and weekly ski programs, using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to students who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Teaches children as well as adults.
• •Ensures proper safety procedures are followed at all times and that students learn in a safe environment. Is responsible for ticket handling for groups of students and must maintain good internal control practices to keep track of these tickets.
• •Assists with program registration, equipment issue, ski lift, and cleaning duties.
• •May be involved in designing, building and maintaining the snowboarding course, by building jumps and installing rails, using hand tools.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must be an advanced skier/snowboarder with the ability to teach others. Must have or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification within 6 months of hire. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess knowledge in building and maintaining snowboarding course.
