The Smart Building & Smart Power Regional Channel Representative manages the operational and partner-facing side of channel business. This role handles channel operations, inventory management, partner enablement, and logistics — allowing Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to concentrate on what they do best: building relationships with end users, electrical contractors, and developing project opportunities. By owning the day-to-day channel responsibilities, the Channel Representive ensures consistent, professional partner experiences while the sales team drives revenue through strategic customer engagement.
This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Buildings and Smart Power divisions of ABB Canada.
The work model is 80% on the road (from Saguenay to Ottawa) and 20% from home.
Responsibilities
- Maintain channel operational excellence by managing pricing programs, processing stock returns and defective equipment claims, and ensuring accurate channel administration.
- Manage partner operational escalations and coordinate resolution of order, service, and process-related issues with internal stakeholders and distribution partners.
- Support inventory management by working with distribution partners to maintain agreed stocking levels and monitoring stock health, including slow-moving and excess inventory.
- Identify and support inventory growth opportunities through new stocking programs and collaboration with channel partners.
- Coordinate channel partner training and onboarding, ensuring participation in ABB training programs, Empower portal access, and alignment with ABB processes and service expectations.
- Communicate product and program updates to channel partners, including new product launches, process changes, and end-of-life notifications.
- Maintain and manage channel sales support tools and assets, including ABB demonstration equipment, marketing materials, and partner-facing resources.
- Plan and coordinate channel engagement activities, including trade shows, counter days, product launches, promotional campaigns, and other partner events.
- Support Channel Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) by coordinating review activities, preparing materials, and partnering with Regional Sales Managers.
- Track and report channel performance metrics, including sell-through rates, inventory turns, stock health, and partner performance, while providing market and competitive insights to support business decision-making.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in channel management, sales operations, inside sales, or distribution, preferably within the electrical or industrial sector.
- Bilingual French-English. English is necessary to communicate with clients outside Quebec.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with distributor partners and cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing pricing programs, SPAs, order management processes, and channel operations.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; post-secondary education in Business, Electrical Technology, or a related field is an asset.
