Support the daily coordination and monitoring of road transport operations across East and Southern Africa. Maintain accurate, consolidated visibility of truck movements, nominations, border clearance and delivery performance, follow up outstanding actions, and escalate delays to support safe, timely and cost-effective supply to Puma Energy affiliates.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily operations and tracking

  • Review daily transporter updates and maintain a consolidated tracker of truck availability, nominations, loading, transit, border clearance, offloading and delivery completion.
  • Consolidate and share agreed movement updates with internal teams and external counterparties, validating missing or inconsistent information.
  • Follow up transporters, terminals and country teams on delays, turnaround times and delivery constraints; record action owners and expected resolution dates.

Nominations and transporter performance

  • Support transport allocation planning and truck nominations in line with approved plans; follow up acceptance, loading orders and actual loading against nominations.
  • Monitor planned versus actual volumes, truck availability, on-time loading and delivery, and turnaround times; flag shortfalls and recurring service issues.
  • Coordinate with supply and receiving teams on loading and offloading readiness, available tank capacity and changes to delivery schedules.

Borders duties and ageing follow up

  • Track border movements, customs documentation, clearance milestones and duty payment status with country teams and clearing and forwarding agents.
  • Follow up missing documents, duty payment confirmations and clearance holds; maintain records and escalate overdue actions to Phillip and the responsible teams.
  • Flag ageing nominations, trucks awaiting loading or offloading, border delays and open delivery documentation against agreed timelines; highlight potential detention or demurrage exposure.

Reporting compliance and improvement

  • Prepare daily operational updates and weekly and monthly performance summaries, including exceptions, ageing items and actions requiring management attention.
  • Maintain accurate records of nominations, movement updates, delivery confirmations and supporting documents; support service and invoice queries with operational data.
  • Follow up required transporter, vehicle and driver compliance information with the relevant teams; promptly escalate reported safety incidents or non-compliance.
  • Support transporter reviews and audits through data preparation and action tracking, and suggest improvements to reporting, data quality and follow-up processes.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Graduate or early-career candidate with 1–3 years of relevant experience. Internships or exposure to transport, logistics, cross-border operations or the energy sector are advantageous.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data consolidation, lookups and pivot tables; proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn operational systems.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Skills and competencies:

  • Strong numerical ability, attention to detail and confidence working with operational data.
  • Clear communication, disciplined follow-up and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise daily tasks, identify exceptions and escalate promptly under supervision.

Proactive, dependable and willing to learn, with a strong commitment to teamwork, safety and integrity.
