Join Benchmark Human Services as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) ! Benchmark's birth to three services is involved in all aspects of care for the youngest among us—from overseeing regional programs to providing hands-on services through federal and state programs. Children’s Services help babies and toddlers with disabilities or delays learn new skills that typically develop during the first three years of life including physical, cognitive, social/emotional, and communication skills.

Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) will conduct nutritional assessments, participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), monitor outcomes as a member of the team, and provide EI supports to families for the benefit of the child.

HYBRID- working remotely with some home visits in Fairfield County

Part time requires a minimum of 10 direct service hours a week

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• •Comply with all Federal and State regulations, including those outlined in the Connecticut Birth to Three Program Regulations.
• •Administer evaluations and assessments.
• •Provide an individual assessment including the child’s nutritional history and dietary intake, various anthropometric, biochemical, and clinical variables, feeding skills, and feeding problems, including food habits and preferences
• •Evaluate the planning and implementation of a therapy program of purposeful techniques to meet the goals of the IFSP.
• •Develop rapport with children, families, and team members to promote a healthy learning environment.
• •Develop a joint plan with family and recommend strategies utilizing evidence-based practices and following the Natural Learning Environment Practices.
• •Implement IFSP for enrolled families and recommend frequency of services based on child development status and family priorities and concerns.
• •Provide families with information, skills, and support related to enhancing their child’s development.
• •Make referrals to appropriate community resources necessary to carry out the nutritional goals of the plan.
• •Attend joint visits with other providers to adhere to the primary service provider model.
• •Utilize the coaching model and natural environment teaching.
• •Participate in Birth to Three sponsored trainings, meetings, and learning opportunities as appropriate.
• •Attend and participate in team meetings.
• •Complete Birth to Three Service Coordinator Modules and function as the Service Coordinator.
• •Comply with all standards to ensure the health and safety of all staff and individuals we serve.
• •Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Excellent organization and time management skills. Strong communication skills. Respectful of others and able to collaborate well with the team. Knowledge of Connecticut’s Birth to Three early intervention program and best practices for early intervention service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• •Registered Dietitian, MA or PhD in related fields such as nutrition sciences and clinical nutrition
• •Registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration or certified by the Department of Public Health under §20- 206n.
• •The Birth to Three Infant Toddler Family Specialist Credential with endorsement 120 or 123 is required before these personnel may conduct developmental evaluations or assessments.
• •Valid Connecticut driver's license.
• •Maintain valid auto insurance
• •Confident in adapting to various learning styles to meet the needs of each child and their individualized treatment plan.
• •One year of experience providing nutrition therapy as a RDN to children in a professional setting.
• •Demonstrates a commitment to Natural Learning Environment Practices.
