Care to join the team?
At GenesisCare, great patient care starts with great people. We’re proud to work together to make a meaningful difference for people undergoing cancer treatment, combining compassionate care with a commitment to innovation and better patient outcomes.
We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join our welcoming team at our clinic located within Frankston Private Hospital on a permanent, full-time basis.
You’ll be part of an experienced and supportive team providing high-quality Radiation Oncology nursing care, working closely with Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists and other healthcare professionals to support patients throughout their treatment journey.
Oncology experience is highly regarded, but it’s certainly not essential. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your reliability and flexibility, and your genuine commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centred care. You’ll be supported by an experienced team who will help you develop your skills and confidence in Radiation Oncology nursing.
If you’re a strong communicator who enjoys building meaningful connections with patients and their carers and being part of a collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are supported throughout their treatment.
- Undertake direct patient care, including patient education, wound management and medication administration in accordance with practice protocols.
- Coordinate and effectively manage the care of patients attending the clinic each day.
- Work closely with Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Patient Services and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain clear and effective communication regarding patient care, treatment and any changes in clinical needs.
- Ensure all patient interactions and clinical care are accurately documented, communicated and actioned.
- Follow and contribute to procedures, protocols, clinical guidelines and best-practice Radiation Oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are consistently followed.
- Use ISBAR for patient handover and communication with allied health and other healthcare services.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and supportive team environment.
We're interested in hearing from people who:
- Hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Have a minimum of two years' post-graduate nursing experience (preferred).
- Have previous oncology nursing experience – highly regarded but not essential, with training in Radiation Oncology nursing provided.
- Have experience in wound care management.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate empathy and compassion for patients and their carers.
- Have well-developed clinical judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Are committed to best-practice principles, patient safety and continuous quality improvement, including the NSQHS Standards.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Are reliable, motivated and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Benefits of joining our team:
- Access to our confidential Employee Assistance Program for employees and their immediate families.
- Care for Your Wellbeing programs, because we understand that we need to support you to support our patients.
- Company-paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers.
- The option to purchase additional annual leave to support work-life balance.
- Salary sacrifice options for superannuation.
- Care to Grow – training, learning and development opportunities.
- Care to Celebrate – recognition and appreciation programs.
- Employee Rewards Referral Program.
If you’re ready to be part of a team that puts patients first while supporting you to learn, grow and make a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you.
