Job Description:

• •MS Float
• •Shift: FT Nights
• •Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• •Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• •Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• •Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• •Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• •Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• •Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• •Other duties as assigned. Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• •Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• •Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• •Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• •Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• •Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AND [Required]
• •National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification [Required]
• •Competence with the EPIC charting system [Preferred]

Education:

• •Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• •Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• •1+ years of recent and relevant experience [Required]
• •2+ years acute care nursing [Preferred]

Pay Range:

• $31.85 - $52.76
