the posting
We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team in Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare (on rotation). With the Brecon Beacons on the doorstep and Cardiff easily accessible by train, it’s a great spot for anyone who enjoys the outdoors but still wants easy access to the city.
You’ll be joining a well-supported practice with a large team of vets, nurses and CCAs, a loyal client base and a varied caseload to keep your days interesting. We have a supportive Branch Partner who holds is keen to encourage learning and development across the team, so there’s plenty of opportunity to build on your skills and explore your clinical interests.
We already have some great equipment, including lap spay facilities and access to Virtual Veterinary Specialists (VVS), and our practice refurbishment is currently underway. It’s an exciting time to join us and be part of the next chapter as we continue to develop the practice.
We want our nurses to feel valued and able to make the most of their skills, with opportunities for one-to-one coaching, personal development and career progression. You’ll be part of a large, supportive team where your contribution to patient care really matters.
We also know that life outside work matters. With 4 day working week, a half-day Saturday rota (1 in 5), no bank holidays or out-of-hours work, and parking available at the practice, there’s a good work-life balance to be had here.
If you’re looking for a role where you can use your nursing skills, enjoy a varied caseload and be part of a friendly team with exciting things happening, we’d love to hear from you.
Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:
Health and wellbeing
- Health Cash Plan from day one
- 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support
- Life Assurance 3 x salary
Annual leave
- 5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising with length of service
- Extra ‘Day for You’, a paid day off just for you
Learning and development
- £750 CPD allowance plus 2 days’ paid leave per year
- Access to Clinical Communities, internal CPD and our 24-hour hospitals
- Funded certificates and internal career pathways
Additional support
- RCVS and VDS fees paid
- Cycle to Work
- Season Ticket loans
- Discounts on Medivet products and services
