Located in Castro Valley, California, Boulevard Pet Hospital has proudly served the East Bay community for more than 50 years. This full-service small-animal practice provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including wellness and preventive medicine, dentistry, diagnostics, spay and neuter procedures, and surgery. The hospital also offers same-day urgent and emergency care during business hours, with a team committed to providing compassionate, personalized care in a welcoming environment.
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. We are looking for a confident, compassionate technician who enjoys working in a collaborative general practice environment and is comfortable providing hands-on patient care.
Qualifications
- Current RVT/LVT/CVT credential in good standing
- 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience with IV catheter placement, intubation, and dental cleanings
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient-care skills
- Excellent communication and client-service skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the veterinary team
- Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced general practice environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for veterinary patients
- Place and maintain IV catheters
- Intubate and monitor patients under anesthesia
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and surgery
- Assist veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Monitor patients during anesthesia and provide appropriate recovery care
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Obtain and record patient histories, weights, and vital signs
- Educate clients regarding medications, treatments, and home-care instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and a clean, organized treatment area
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- No weekends
- $25–$30/hour, based on experience and skill level
