The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Research Assistant to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. What You Need to Know

Starting Salary: $45,000.00

Responsibilities:

Research

• •Intensively participates in data analysis and preliminary data collection through accurately following experimental protocols (e.g., cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, mice behavioral study).
• •Compiles data files set from research teams. Collects, interprets, and analyzes data, compiles results, prepares reports, and presents their conclusions.
• •Maintains mouse colony in the vivarium, performs surgery on the xenograft mice, conducts behavioral test on mice, generates preliminary data for the lung cancer project and Alzheimer’s disease projects.
• •Participates in poster and podium presentation of the collected results

Administrative

• •Under the supervision of PI, organizes the professional collaboration between the pharmacy/graduate students and the lab team member.
• •Helps train new lab members or undergraduate students and graduate students on techniques and safety protocols.
• •Ships laboratory agents for analysis
• •Works collaboratively with undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, and PIs.
• •Attends and contributes to lab meetings and discussions.
• •Other essential duties

Qualifications:

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• •Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
• •Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
• •Attention to detail.
