Barrow in Furness is a town in Cumbria, in the North-West England at the tip of the Furness peninsula, close to the Lake District.

What you will be doing

The Resident Manager is the senior Nuclear Steam Reactor Plant Technical Authority representative at the Barrow site and will lead the Barrow Site Office at the shipyard to support the build and commissioning of the nuclear reactor plants. • You’ll lead the Site Office team to operate at the highest standards and deliver exceptional service, engaging them in our mission and developing them to be the best they can be and managing SQEP/qualification of Rolls-Royce Authorisation Group representatives.
  • You’ll be responsible for oversight of NSRP build and commissioning on behalf of the NSRP Technical Authority and manage a significant audit and surveillance programme across the NRP to provide assurance to the Chief Engineers and NRPA that the plant has been built, commissioned, and maintained in accordance with design intent.
  • You’ll lead the response to NSRP issues as they arise at the shipyard.
  • You’ll develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at the shipyard to provide the key interface between Rolls-Royce and the shipbuilder.
  • You’ll manage and deliver key documentation to BAE Systems – including nuclear procedures for Dreadnought first of class.
  • You’ll be an approving member of various authorisation groups including Reactor Test Group, Procedure Authorisation Group and Submarine Permissioning Group.
