Residential Driver - Local CDL Route

Duties & Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned residential routes to collect solid waste.

Read route sheets and service customers assigned by the dispatcher.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and safety equipment.

Perform physically demanding work, including loading and unloading, sometimes without a helper.

Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse.

Dispose of collected waste at designated facilities.

Provide courteous, professional service to customers.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement at minimum.

Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.

2 years of driving experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of truck components and the ability to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Waste industry experience is preferred but not required .

Physical & Working Conditions

Must be able to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds .

Work around moving mechanical equipment while following required safety precautions.

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including wet and humid conditions.

Regular exposure to fumes, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
