Looking for an evening retail job where you can work with people and stay active? Join our team as a Retail Evening Cashier!

We’re looking for friendly, dependable team members to help create a great experience for our customers during the evening hours. As a Cashier, you’ll often be one of the last people our customers interact with before they leave the store, making you an important part of ending their shopping trip on a positive note.

This is an evening position and availability through store closing is required.

What You'll Do:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Accurately scan and process customer purchases
• Handle cash, credit, debit, coupons, and other forms of payment
• Bag merchandise carefully and efficiently
• Assist customers with questions and help connect them with the right team member when needed
• Help customers at self checkout and other Front End areas as needed
• Keep checkout lanes and surrounding areas clean, organized, and stocked
• Support evening and closing responsibilities throughout the Front End
• Work together with the Service team to provide a fast, friendly checkout experience
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, customer service, safety, and security

No Previous Cashier Experience Required

Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience is a plus, but it is not required. If you're dependable, enjoy helping people, and are ready to learn, we'd love to meet you!

What You’ll Do:

As a Cashier, you are the last touchpoint a customer has before leaving our store.

You'll:

• •Become knowledgeable on Meijer programs and promotions to best assist customers
• •Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences that leave a lasting impression
• •Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• •Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• •Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• •Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns with care
• •Build trust and connection that encourages customers to return
• •Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
