Wage: Hourly based on experience from $19/Hr to $21/Hr

• JOB SUMMARY:
• Prepares medication under the direction of a pharmacist and assists with related job duties.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITES:

• •Assist Pharmacist(s) with daily functions
• •Assist Pharmacist(s) with training of new technicians
• •Receives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy
• •Fills pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions
• •Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of drugs
• •Establishes and maintains patient profiles
• •Answers telephones to discuss or answer patient requests or questions
• •Assists patients at the pharmacy by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information
• •Receives and stores incoming drug or other related pharmacy supplies
• •Verifies invoices and physical quantities received of incoming items
• •Monitors medications in the pharmaceutical inventory to keep in stock medications current and disposes of outdated medications
• •Works with buyer or purchasing agent to keep medications in stock to acceptable levels
• •Performs other duties as assigned or requested

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• •Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED is required
• •Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy
• •One year or more of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• •National certification is preferred but not required
• •Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs
• •Must not be listed on the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• •Requires the ability to measure and/or count out appropriate quantities of pharmaceuticals
• •Requires the ability to operate computer software
• •Requires the ability to clean and maintain equipment or work areas
• •Requires understanding of basic language and terminologies used in the pharmaceutical field
• •Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills
• •Requires excellent customer service skills
• •Requires strong mathematical calculation skills
• •Requires execution of basic pharmacy technician skills in assigned areas and work under close supervision or under clearly defined procedures
