About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

The GI Office RN provides clinical support and care coordination for gastroenterology patients, using nursing assessment and clinical judgment to support safe, timely, patient-centered care. Responsibilities would include:

• •Provide telephone and electronic patient triage and escalate concerns appropriately.
• •Educate patients regarding GI conditions, medications, testing, procedures, and treatment plans.
• •Manage medication refills, prior authorizations, specialty medications, and biologic therapies.
• •Coordinate lab, imaging, pathology, and other result follow-up.
• •Assist with referrals and ensure appropriate clinical follow-through.
• •Support providers with clinical messages, orders, work queues, and patient care needs.
• •Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, pharmacies, and other departments to coordinate care.
• •Maintain accurate documentation and follow nursing, safety, and organizational standards.
• •Participate in workflow and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• •Associates in Nursing Required
• •Bachelors in Nursing Preferred
• •MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• •AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
