Acting as a patient advocate, the OR RN ensures that safety standards are upheld and responds promptly to any changes in patient status. Additional duties include documenting intraoperative care, managing surgical instruments and equipment, adhering to infection prevention protocols, facilitating smooth transitions to recovery staff, and participating in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
