Road Service Mechanic

🔧Diesel Mechanic

• Location: Royal Waste- Queens NY
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 PM, Saturdays until 1pm as needed.

Rate: $30–$40/hr, depending on experience

Employment Type: Full-time

Royal Waste Services is looking to add a Road Service Mechanic to our growing maintenance team. We are committed to hiring mechanics who prioritize driver safety , fleet reliability , and the quality of service we provide to our community . As a mechanic with us the minimum responsibilities are:

Key Responsibilities

• •Perform inspections, repairs, safety checks, and diagnostics on diesel vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
• •Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure codes and adjust Engine and Vehicle Control Modules.
• •Respond to road calls and perform emergency roadside repairs.
• •Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
• •Accurately complete required documentation using fleet maintenance software.
• •Conduct post‑service test drives to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards.
• •Collaborate with team members on complex repairs as needed.
• •Maintain professional and courteous communication with drivers.
• •Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards.
• •Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

What We Need From You

• •Proficiency in diesel diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repair.
• •Basic tool set required.
• •Must Have a valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• •Hydraulic experience is a plus.
• •Strong skills in electrical and hydraulic systems
• •Well-rounded experience in mechanical and welding repairs
