Safety Specialist I
Location: Louisville, CO
Department: Safety
Reports To: Director of Safety
FLSA Status: Exempt (Not Eligible for overtime)
- Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,000 annually

Position Overview:
The Safety Specialist I provides day-to-day support in implementing and maintaining company safety programs to promote a safe and compliant work environment. This role works closely with field teams and Safety leadership to assist with job site safety efforts, documentation, and training coordination. The position is primarily execution-focused with guidance from senior safety staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with job site inspections to identify hazards and support safe work practices
- Support Superintendents and Foremen with basic safety needs and follow-up items
- Participate in incident and near-miss investigations; gather information and assist with documentation
- Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Support OSHA and company-required training coordination (schedule, track, and document completion)
- Help ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies through regular field presence
- Assist in preparing safety communications such as reports, bulletins, and toolbox talk materials
- Track and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory and distribution
- Attend and support safety meetings and job site orientations
- Maintain accurate and organized safety files and documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Safety leadership
- Assist with jobs that require full time safety on site
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework
- 2 years of construction or 1 year safety experience (mechanical industry exposure a plus)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and applicable physical requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop within the safety profession
