Description

Responsible for selling products and services to a wide range of highly complex or major accounts and customers and/or a specific supplier. Accountable for increasing sales/client ratio and expanding customer base. Possesses an advanced knowledge of company and competitor policies, products and/or services or technology.

This position will work within their assigned market/territory to achieve sales goals.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of premium and luxury spirits, category trends, cocktail culture, consumer insights, and the principles of promoting and selling supplier-focused brands within assigned markets .
  • Lead and execute market activities including consumer events, brand activations, account staff trainings, supplier market visits, cocktail programs, menu placements, and spirits education initiatives.
  • Train and educate sales teams on brand positioning, category knowledge, competitive landscape, selling strategies, and market opportunities. Coach and mentor sales representatives to drive execution and achieve sales objectives.
  • Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and monitor and adapt sales activities so these objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Supplier Partners to develop pricing, promotional, distribution, and activation strategies that drive brand growth and achieve supplier goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market analysis, account segmentation, competitive assessment, and strategic prospecting to accelerate growth of assigned brands.
  • Partner closely with supplier representatives, key retail and on-premise customers, and internal stakeholders to execute business plans and elevate assigned brands.
  • Influence and leverage full-book selling resources to increase distribution, visibility, menu placements, promotional activity, and execution standards for assigned brands throughout the market.
  • Achieve and exceed volume, depletion, distribution, revenue, and execution objectives as established by the company and supplier partners.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the distilled spirits industry, category dynamics, and market trends.
  • Experience building relationships with key on-premise and off-premise decision makers.
  • Strong presentation and training skills with the ability to influence large groups.
  • Ability to analyze sales reports, identify opportunities, and develop action plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and sales reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use Tablet/iPad
  • Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment

Education/Training/Experience

  • College degree or equivalent work experience/training/education highly preferred
  • WSET Spirits, BarSmarts, CSS (Certified Specialist of Spirits), or related industry certifications preferred but not required
  • Related sales experience of six years or more; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated success managing supplier priorities and driving market share growth
  • Candidate must possess valid driver’s license and registration
  • Ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the Company and Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state

Physical Demands and Environment:

  • Occasional physical exertion including the regular lifting of objects weighing up to 30 pounds and the occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Work requires frequent standing or walking throughout the work day
  • Work requires considerable mental concentration to effectively execute complex tasks requiring periods of focused mental and visual concentration
  • Availability to work nights and weekends on activities related to customer account events
  • Work requires travel and exposure to weather conditions while visiting customers, prospects or vendors
  • Potential for accidents due to over the road travel including traffic accidents, delivery of goods or the set up of displays
