At Howard Air we are on a mission to elevate our Brand to new heights and are searching for a passionate and energy-driven Sales Coach to join our team. If you have a passion for teaching/mentoring and can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to help our team excel, then this is your team. This role will develop, train, inspect, measure, and improve the sales process, while partnering with department leaders to ensure consistent execution and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Process Ownership: Develop, standardize, and continuously improve the sales process across HVAC Equipment, HVAC Service, and Plumbing. Responsible for developing the process, training it, inspecting it, reporting on it, and working with department leadership to make sure it is being executed.
Training & Coaching: Lead classroom and field training, weekly role-play, objection handling, and targeted skill development.
Field Coaching: Conduct regular ride-alongs with Comfort Advisors, technicians, and other customer-facing employees to observe and coach real customer interactions.
Apprentice Development: Oversee sales apprentice training, role-play, ride-alongs, competency assessments, and graduation standards.
Performance Reporting: Track and report key sales metrics including close rates, average tickets, opportunities, turn rates, and individual performance trends.
Accountability: Partner with department managers on coaching plans, Success 1:1s, follow-up, and performance improvement.
Manager Development: Teach managers how to effectively coach and develop their sales teams rather than relying solely on the trainer.
Call Center Alignment: Partner with call center leadership to align booking, lead quality, customer expectations, turnovers, and follow-up with the sales process.
Cross-Department Alignment: Ensure HVAC Equipment, HVAC Service, and Plumbing operate under one consistent sales philosophy and process.
Continuous Improvement: Identify performance gaps and translate field observations and data into actionable training and process improvements.
What Success Looks Like
Success means creating one company, one sales process, with department-specific applications. The right candidate will be comfortable training a plumbing team, riding with an HVAC technician, reviewing Comfort Advisor performance, coaching an apprentice, working with the call center, and reporting to leadership on where we are winning, where we are losing, and what we are doing about it.
