The day to day:

The Environmental Division in Stafford are looking for a new staff member for a Sample Receipt Officer role to join a well-established team. This role is primarily focused on incoming and outgoing goods to support the success and efficiency of our commercial laboratory.

This is a fast-paced and varied role that will see you unpacking and sorting with accuracy.

Receive clients’ deliveries and confirm samples meet the testing requirements.

Process incoming sample deliveries into the laboratory including the sorting and labelling of samples.

Read and understand client documentation.

Organise and follow up of freight pick-ups for internal and interstate samples.

Liaising with clients (internal and external) regarding sample submissions

Maintaining filing systems and documentation

Perform general housekeeping duties.

Maintaining an excellent standard of occupational health and safety

An understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards.

Additionally, the following skills and interests are advantageous and desirable:

• •A demonstrated interest in areas such as computer building, circuitry, automation, Excel macros, scripting, or 3D printing
• •Coding or programming capability (e.g. VBA, Python, R, SQL or similar)
• •Exposure to or interest in robotics, AI, process automation or digital optimisation
