Your role

Let's talk about the role and responsibilities:

The SAP CPI Integration Consultant is responsible for designing, building and testing CPI integration flows for the EDP Replacement programme, working under the Integration Lead to deliver agreed interfaces iteratively through system test, SIT and UAT.

Key responsibilities:

• Build: develop iFlows, mappings, scripts and adapter configuration from approved interface specifications.

• Specifications: write and maintain interface specifications and mapping documents.

• Error handling: implement retry, alerting, logging and exception handling to agreed standards.

• Security: configure credentials, certificates and access for each interface.

• Data migration: support load interfaces, trial loads and reconciliation.

• Feature flags: implement flagged interface behaviour and test both states.

• Testing: write unit and interface tests; execute system tests per iteration; support SIT and UAT; fix and retest defects.

• Code quality: follow peer review, version control, transport and CI/CD standards.

• Documentation: maintain technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge-transfer material.

Let's talk about your qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 5 years of utilities-sector experience (mandatory), within 5–10 years in SAP integration roles; at least 3 years of hands-on SAP CPI / BTP Integration Suite development.

• Hands-on delivery of iFlows, mappings, adapters (HTTP, SOAP, OData, IDoc, SFTP) and Groovy or JavaScript scripting.

• Experience integrating with SAP S/4HANA or IS-U and cloud applications.

• Basic understanding of data migration concepts and monitoring.

• Experience supporting SIT and UAT, including defect triage and retest.

Your profile

Desirable skills

• SAP certification in SAP Integration Suite.

• Experience with Service Cloud, CDC or field service integrations.

• Exposure to API Management, AWS-based components and event-driven patterns.

• Experience with Jira/ADO, Git and GitLab CI/CD.

Ways of working

• Iterative build and system test for Release 1 across four iterations, then waterfall-style SIT and UAT, followed by deployment.

• Project and BAU share the same environments; feature flags control exposure of in-flight work.

• Governed by the client's Digital Delivery Framework (stage gates, ADGF, DFA and SteerCo forums); client templates and SharePoint repository to be used.

• AI-enabled accelerators may be used for interface specifications, mappings and code drafts, subject to client architecture, cyber-security and Responsible AI approvals; all outputs go through developer validation, peer review, automated testing and scanning before promotion.

Behaviours

• Structured, client-facing communicator who can explain integration trade-offs between standard and custom.

• Comfortable with ambiguity during Detailed Design and with shifting scope between releases.

• Collaborative with Service Cloud, CDC, data, test and architecture teams.
