Principal Specialist SAP Analytics and Planning

BASIC SUMMARY:

Designs, configures and builds system specifications that address business process requirements. Involved in the planning, configuration, and deployment of system implementations and enhancements. Documents and tests functionality of the system; corrects deficiencies and may adjust configuration as required to reflect improvement in business process, data management/integrity, application effectiveness. Evaluates integration between applications and infrastructure, operational requirements, and characteristics/functionality of overall system. Responsible for meeting software compliance and company's system architecture standards. May act as a liaison with other business functions.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the design, development, and support of SAP Analytics and Planning solutions utilizing SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere, SAP CPI, SAP Integration Suite, Analysis for Office (AFO), and SAP SuccessFactors.

  • Develop and maintain analytical models, planning applications, dashboards, KPIs, and financial reports supporting budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Build and optimize SAC Data Actions, Advanced Formulas, Multi Actions, planning workflows, and Datasphere data models.
  • Develop and support integrations between SAP analytics platforms and enterprise source systems.
  • Configure and manage SAP change control processes, including Transport Management System (TMS), releases, and batch job scheduling across environments.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reconciliation across SAP ECC, SAP BPC, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Lead the migration and modernization of reporting and planning solutions into SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere.
  • Provide technical leadership, solution governance, and best-practice guidance for SAP analytics, planning, reporting, and data modeling.
  • Troubleshoot system, data, integration, and reporting issues while driving continuous performance improvements.
  • Support production operations, upgrades, testing, deployments, and ongoing enhancements across the SAP Analytics landscape.
  • Maintain technical documentation, security models, hierarchies, and data governance standards.
  • Contribute to the SAP Analytics roadmap and adoption of new SAP cloud capabilities and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience with SAP planning and analytics solutions, including SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Live, and Analysis for Office (AFO).
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • 10+ years of analytical modeling experience utilizing SAP HANA Live, SAP Datasphere, and SAC.
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, including financial statements, report formatting, FX impact analysis, Price-Volume-Mix (PVM) analysis, and hierarchy management.
  • Experience developing SAC Data Actions, scripting in optimized mode, and ETL solutions utilizing SAP HANA Live, SAP Datasphere, and SAC.
  • Experience working with SAP ECC data and tables.
  • Experience analyzing, reconciling, and validating data across SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Datasphere.
  • Experience supporting outbound interfaces from SAP Datasphere preferred.
  • Experience using SAP SuccessFactors as a data source is a plus.
