Tischler/innen stellen Schränke, Sitzmöbel, Tische, Fenster und Türen, aber auch Innenausbauten sowie Messe- und Ladeneinrichtungen meist in Einzelanfertigung her. Zunächst beraten sie ihre Kunden über Einrichtungslösungen, u.U. nehmen sie dabei Skizzen oder den Computer zu Hilfe. Nach der Auftragserteilung be- und verarbeiten sie Holz und Holzwerkstoffe mit einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher, auch computergesteuerter Techniken. Tischler/innen sägen, hobeln und schleifen, verarbeiten Furniere und behandeln die Holzoberflächen. Einzeln angefertigte Teile verschrauben oder verleimen sie zu fertigen Holzprodukten.

Auf Baustellen setzen sie Fenster, Treppen und Türen ein; in Wohn- oder Büroräumen verlegen sie Parkettböden und montieren Einbaumöbel, Raumteiler oder Wandverkleidungen. Außerdem reparieren sie beschädigte Möbel oder gestalten Musterstücke.

Arbeitszeit: 30-40 St/wöchentlich
