  • Guide Scientific Review Managers and coordinate scientific issues with authorized Government program officials.
  • Oversee consistency with approved review criteria, conflict-of-interest safeguards, confidentiality requirements, and deliverable schedules.
  • Monitor scientific critique and summary-statement quality without interfering with independent reviewer judgments.
  • Identify scientific review risks, recommend corrective actions, and support process improvement.

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership in biomedical research peer review, scientific evaluation, or comparable federal research programs.
  • Experience overseeing multidisciplinary scientific teams, quality assurance, and complex review schedules.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience supporting NIH, DoD/CDMRP, or comparable research evaluation programs preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and program priorities concurrently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a United States citizen, per contract requirement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable T1 security investigation and a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance.

Education and Training

Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent advanced degree in biomedical, clinical, health, or related scientific discipline highly desired.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May occasionally need to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel and work onsite at Fort Detrick, Maryland, or other designated client locations as required.
