Senior Accountant

About Vessel

Vessel is building the future of housing. We combine breakthrough design, advanced manufacturing, and first-principles thinking to tackle one of the world’s most pressing challenges: creating sustainable, attainable housing for all. This isn’t just construction—it’s a complete reimagining of how people live.

Backed by Mosaic Ventures and Lennar, the nation’s largest homebuilder, Vessel is rapidly scaling to meet growing demand. We care deeply about every detail—from beauty and durability to efficiency and accessibility—because we believe everyone deserves a thoughtfully made home.

The Role

Our books are largely automated. Ramp captures, codes and syncs every bill and card transaction into NetSuite, and our bank feeds land in NetSuite daily. Your job is to make sure what the systems recorded is complete and correct across all our entities. That means matching, clearing exceptions, and keeping every balance sheet account reconciled and review-ready.

You report to the Controller, who owns the close calendar, period-end entries and financial reporting. You own the accuracy of the underlying transactions and reconciliations.

What You’ll Do

Bank and card matching: Match NetSuite bank-feed and card transactions for every entity, at least weekly. Record what the feed surfaces that isn’t already booked: bank fees, intercompany transfers, loan payments, manual payments.

Ramp exceptions: Spot-check Ramp’s coding (entity, department, GL, project) and fix errors before they sync. Clear unsynced or failed items, and reconcile Ramp AP and card balances to NetSuite each month.

Payroll recording: Book each biweekly payroll in NetSuite by entity and department from the summary payroll journal provided by the Controller, separating direct production labor from overhead, and tie it to the cash debit.

Inventory and cost accounting: Keep raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods balances accurate in NetSuite. Support physical and cycle counts, and track production costs (materials, labor, overhead).

Intercompany: Record intercompany transfers on both sides, and make sure intercompany balances agree between entities every month.

Balance sheet reconciliations: Reconcile cash, card, AP, intercompany, prepaids, inventory, fixed assets and debt monthly, with support. Deliver the reconciliation package to the Controller by the close deadline.

Customer billing: Invoice customers at milestones and track collections.

Automate what repeats: When you find yourself fixing the same thing twice, propose the rule that prevents it (Ramp rules, NetSuite matching rules, saved searches).

Success in the First 90 Days

Bank and card matching current for all entities through the prior month

Ramp unsynced and error queue at zero

Inventory and work-in-process balances reconciled to the latest count

Intercompany balances agree across entities

Monthly reconciliation package delivered on time, with no unexplained reconciling items

What You Bring

5+ years of accounting experience, with a track record of working independently; multi-entity preferred

Required: hands-on, day-to-day NetSuite experience, including bank feeds, matching and reconciliations

Required: Ramp or a similar spend platform

Solid accrual accounting and US GAAP basics, including intercompany

Manufacturing, inventory or cost accounting experience is a strong plus

Strong Excel skills

Accurate, reliable on deadlines, and you’d rather fix the rule than redo the entry

What We Offer

Base salary: $110,000

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off

A key role on a lean, growing finance team, with room to grow as the team scales
