Summary
This position is part of the CMEI Assistant Secretary for Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation, Department of Energy. As a Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for high-impact policy, program integration, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives rather than day-to-day management.
Duties
As a Senior Advisor, you will: Advise executive leadership on clean energy demonstration policies, long-range strategies, and organizational priorities to accelerate the commercialization of emerging energy technologies. Lead coordination and alignment across Department of Energy (DOE) program offices, National Laboratories, federal agencies, Tribal and state governments, and industry partners. Represent leadership in high-level engagements with senior DOE officials, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congress, and external industry executives to defend program positions and resolve sensitive issues. Evaluate complex programmatic, technical, financial, and organizational issues, including project milestones and major funding initiatives, to identify emerging risks and recommend executive mitigation strategies. Lead strategic transformation, process improvement, and program governance initiatives to optimize workforce planning and overall organizational effectiveness. Prepare high-level executive deliverables (decision memoranda, briefings, congressional testimony) and monitor legislative/regulatory developments while coordinating agency responses to congressional, GAO, and Inspector General inquiries.
