Job Title: Senior AI Solutions Engineer

Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (“the Foundation”) is seeking top talent for its Senior AI Solutions Engineer position. This position at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (“the Foundation”) designs, builds, and supports AI-enabled applications, integrations, and workflows across the organization. The role applies generative AI, programming, systems integration, workflow automation, and low-code development to practical business needs.

This is a hands-on, technical role that works with business and technical teams to identify use cases, develop secure and maintainable solutions, and move successful prototypes into supported production use. The position collaborates with senior technical staff on higher-risk or more complex designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with partners to identify and assess organizational needs that could benefit from AI.

Translate business needs into functional requirements and practical solution designs partnering with senior technical staff on higher-risk or more complex designs as needed

Design, build, test, deploy, document, and maintain AI-enabled applications, integrations, and workflows.

Apply AI capabilities such as classification, extraction, summarization, content generation, knowledge retrieval, question answering, and task completion.

Connect AI models with organizational systems and data using code, APIs, scripts, connectors, and low-code platforms.

Develop and test prototypes, then advance successful concepts into secure, supported production solutions, incorporating peer and senior technical review as appropriate.

Partner with departmental stakeholders to evaluate outputs for accuracy, relevance, consistency, cost, and suitability.

Improve reliability and safety through grounding, business rules, validation, exception handling, human review, and appropriate access controls.

Monitor and refine deployed solutions as needs, data, models, and supporting technologies change.

Explain AI capabilities, limitations, costs, and risks clearly, including when a non-AI approach would be more appropriate.

Code reusable components and established practices that support efficient, responsible AI delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

Relevant experience developing applications, integrations, automated workflows, or other technical solutions using generative AI tools, APIs, frameworks, or platforms

Ability to translate business needs into working solutions and troubleshoot across applications, data sources, integrations, and AI services

Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as JavaScript, Python, C#, or PowerShell, with knowledge of APIs, webhooks, connectors, data formats, or low-code platforms

Experience with prompt development, structured outputs, and evaluating AI solutions for accuracy, reliability, security, and suitability

Working knowledge of application security, credential management, testing, logging, error handling, deployment, and source control practices

Sound judgment in balancing business value, complexity, cost, risk, and maintainability, with strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Experience with document processing, retrieval-augmented generation, enterprise knowledge retrieval, agent workflows, or AI safeguards is preferred

Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise technologies such as Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Azure AI, Microsoft Graph, or Entra ID and integrating enterprise business systems is preferred

Salary Range

$150,000 — $170,000 USD
