About the Role

Level: Individual Contributor, senior level

Base Salary: $130,000-150,000

Location: Watertown, MA (hybrid)

ButcherBox is hiring a Senior Analyst, Media Measurement to own new member acquisition analytics. You’ll be the senior analytics voice on the growth team: the person who decides what we measure, how we read it, and what we do about it. This isn’t a build-dashboards-and-hand-off-findings role; you’ll identify opportunities, design tests, drive analysis, and carry it through to a decision in collaboration with senior leadership and channel managers.

Our marketing and commercial teams work in a hybrid model that balances personal flexibility with in-person collaboration. The ideal candidate will find value in being in our Watertown office two to three days per week, working alongside the growth team, owning critical metrics with them, and leading weekly channel deep dives.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Acquisition performance across channels (paid social, SEM, affiliate, streaming, podcast, etc.), plus site funnel and lead/email capture — from diagnosing what changed to recommending where the next dollar goes

Our measurement framework: triangulating incrementality tests, marketing mix modeling, and platform-reported results into one view of channel performance the business trusts

MMM leadership: validating the model’s inputs and outputs, pressure-testing results against what we know about the business, and turning them into budget recommendations

Test design and readout for A/B and incrementality tests (geo holdouts, conversion lift, matched market), including sizing, power, guardrails, and a clear go/no-go call

The unit economics of a new member (predictive LTV, LTV:CPA) and what they mean for acquisition strategy, targets, and tradeoffs

Weekly channel deep dives and the business reviews where acquisition decisions are made

Self-service reporting in Power BI and clean, documented data the growth team can use without filing a ticket

The bar for analytical quality on the team, including mentoring junior analysts and reviewing their work

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

4+ years in analytics, with at least 3 in marketing or acquisition analytics (DTC, subscription, e-commerce, or an agency)

Advanced SQL that you write : multi-step CTEs, window functions, cohort and funnel construction, deduplicating event and order data, and debugging queries someone else wrote. Databricks and dbt experience a plus.

The desire to ask, answer, and own some of the most interesting and critical questions at ButcherBox

Comfort with making decisions with incomplete data

Proficiency in Power BI including data modeling, not just building visuals

Hands-on experience designing and reading incrementality tests, and deep understanding of how MMM works and where it breaks

A track record of recommendations that changed spend, targets, or strategy — and you can tell us what happened next

A bias towards action – an overriding sense of “so what?” should guide every analysis

Ability to present to senior, non-technical stakeholders with concision: lead with the answer, defend it under questioning, and say “I don’t know yet” when that’s the true answer

Willingness to push back, including on senior stakeholders, when the data says something different from what they want to hear

Python is a plus
