Join Thales as a Senior Application Security Sales Engineer and become the technical expert who connects cybersecurity innovation with business success. You will play a key role in supporting our Eastern Europe & CIS sales organization, helping customers discover the value of Imperva’s Application Security solutions.

Why join Thales?

At Thales, cybersecurity is about more than technology — it is about protecting what matters most.

Following our growth and the acquisition of Imperva, we are looking for an experienced, customer-focused Sales Engineer to strengthen our Eastern Europe & CIS team. This is an opportunity to work with leading application security technologies, collaborate with talented sales professionals, and make a tangible difference in how organizations protect their most critical applications and valuable data.

Your mission: Make security meaningful.

As a Senior Application Security Sales Engineer, you will be a trusted technical advisor to customers, a strategic partner to the sales team, and a key contributor to our regional business growth.

You will combine deep technical expertise with a consultative approach, demonstrating how Thales and Imperva solutions address real-world security challenges and deliver measurable customer value.

What you will do:

Plan, manage, and execute product evaluations and Proof of Value (PoV) engagements;

Translate complex technical concepts into clear business benefits for technical and executive audiences;

Enable and support distributors and strategic partners, strengthening their technical expertise and ability to position our solutions;

Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and articulate our competitive advantages;

Collaborate with technical support, Product Management, and Product Development to resolve critical issues and share valuable market feedback;

Create and deliver demand-generation content, including webinars, articles, and expert publications.

What will make you successful?

We are looking for a technically strong, commercially minded professional who understands that successful pre-sales is about more than product knowledge. It is about listening, building trust, understanding customer challenges, and connecting the right technology to the right business outcome.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field;

At least 8 years of experience in network security, software development, pre-sales engineering, or hands-on use of web application solutions, ideally including 5+ years in a Sales Engineer role;

Experience with customer-centric, consultative, or value-based selling methodologies;

Excellent communication, presentation, and product demonstration skills;

A solid understanding of web applications, security, and auditing environments;

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancers, proxies, firewalls, APIs (REST/SOAP), SSL/TLS, cryptography, and certificates;

Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform;

Experience working with Linux;

Fluency in Polish and English;

Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

You can stand out even more with:

Knowledge of BGP, GRE, and DNS;

Application development experience or scripting skills in Python or Bash, including automation and RegEx;

Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies;

Cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or ISC2 CCSP;

Knowledge of compliance standards such as PCI, SOX, and HIPAA;

Experience with network or application firewalls and IDS/IPS solutions;

Russian language skills.

Ready to make an impact?

If you are passionate about application security, thrive in customer-facing technical roles, and want to combine your cybersecurity expertise with business impact, we would love to hear from you.
