About the Team

DoorDash’s mission is to grow and empower local economies. DoorDash connects people with the local businesses they care about, helping grow businesses and the communities that support those businesses.

The Customer CRM Marketing team sits within the broader Retention Marketing function and is responsible for driving engagement, activation, and retention of Customers in Australia and New Zealand. The team focuses on building personalised, data-driven lifecycle programs that deliver the right message to the right customer at the right time, across channels including email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging.

Operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment, the team partners closely with Integrated Marketing, Analytics, Strategy, and Operations to deliver best-in-class CRM experiences and continuously evolve our capabilities through testing, learning, and innovation — with the Grocery and Retail merchants (New Verticals) representing one of the most exciting and fastest-growing areas of focus for the team.

About the Role

DoorDash is seeking a customer-obsessed and highly collaborative Senior Associate, CRM & Lifecycle Marketing to own lifecycle and retention marketing for our New Verticals portfolio — the growing range of non-restaurant merchants on our platform, including high-profile partners such as Aldi, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse and Petstock, alongside many more exciting industry firsts to come.

In this role, you will build lifecycle and retention programs from end to end — from strategy and briefing through to execution and optimisation — designed to build sticky, repeat customer behaviour across our New Verticals partners. You will work in close partnership with the New Verticals Strategy & Operations team, helping bring their ambitious launch and go-to-market plans to life through best-in-class CRM and lifecycle marketing.

You’ll be a beacon of customer-first thinking within the business, bringing a clear point of view on what great customer experience looks like and championing that standard across every program you build. In addition to Strategy & Operations, you will lean on the Promotions, wider Marketing and Brand teams to deliver integrated, high-impact lifecycle campaigns that support each new vertical’s launch and long-term growth.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will have…

Ownership of an Exciting New Frontier: The opportunity to build lifecycle and retention programs from the ground up for some of DoorDash’s most high-profile new partners, including Aldi, Woolworths and Petstock

Strategic Influence: A seat at the table in shaping go-to-market and retention strategy for New Verticals, partnering directly with the Strategy & Operations team on their most ambitious goals

Cross-Functional Impact: Close collaboration with Promotions, Brand and wider Marketing teams to deliver integrated, high-impact customer experiences

Customer-First Leadership: The opportunity to be a genuine voice for the customer within the business, shaping what “great” looks like across New Verticals lifecycle marketing

High Visibility: Exposure to senior stakeholders across the business, given the strategic importance of New Verticals to DoorDash’s growth story

Continuous Learning & Innovation: Exposure to best-in-class CRM practices, with the opportunity to help define the lifecycle marketing playbook for a brand-new part of the business

We’re excited about you because you have…

CRM & Lifecycle Expertise: 3+ years of experience building and executing CRM campaigns end-to-end, including lifecycle, retention and always-on programs across channels such as email, push, SMS and in-app

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of partnering closely with Strategy & Operations, Promotions and Brand/Marketing teams to deliver on shared goals

Customer-First Mindset: A genuine passion for customer experience, with the judgement to know what great looks like and the confidence to advocate for the customer across the business

Program Ownership End-to-End: Proven ability to take a lifecycle or retention program from strategy and briefing through to build, execution and optimisation

Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use behavioural insights, segmentation and performance data to inform strategy and prioritisation

HTML/SQL Familiarity (nice to have): Some exposure to HTML troubleshooting or SQL for data pulls or audience segmentation is a bonus, though not required

New Launch Experience (advantageous): Experience supporting product, category or partner launches, and building the retention foundations that help new offerings stick

Marketplace or Retail Experience (advantageous): Familiarity with grocery, retail or marketplace dynamics is a plus, given the non-restaurant nature of New Verticals partners

Experience navigating ACMA compliance for Email, Push and SMS.
