Job Description:

  • Senior Azure DevOps Engineer - Full-Stack and Hybrid Cloud Systems
  • Bangalore, India ' Full-Time
  • About the Role
  • We are looking for an experienced, versatile Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team and become a genuine part of what we are building.
  • This is not a straightforward DevOps role. Our system spans a full-stack web application, a rich and deliberately complex Azure cloud environment, and on-premises Linux lab infrastructure that talks directly to FPGA hardware. The person who thrives here will be someone who gets energized by that kind of variety, not overwhelmed by it.
  • Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys working closely with developers and customers, and takes real pride in the quality and reliability of what they build and maintain. Technical depth matters, but so does being someone the team genuinely enjoys working with.
  • The Environment You Will Be Working In
  • The Application
  • We build and operate a full-stack web application with a Node.js server, TypeScript services, and a React.js client. The application connects to on-premises Linux lab environments where a Python-based layer orchestrates and controls FPGA hardware. The cloud and the physical lab need to talk to each other reliably, securely, and continuously.
  • The Internal Azure Subscription
  • This environment is mature, fully operational, and genuinely complex. Containerized workloads run on Kubernetes. We use the right database for the right job: relational databases for structured data, a document store for flexibility, in-memory caching for performance, distributed file storage for shared access, and large-scale telemetry and analytics through Azure Data Explorer. Identity and access management spans SSO, Active Directory, Kerberos, and Microsoft Entra ID, because our permission model is real-world complex, not textbook simple. We also run an internal HPC-grade job scheduling system that manages compute resource allocation and permissions across lab infrastructure.
  • The External Azure Subscription
  • This subscription is starting now and will serve customers outside our organization. Security, network architecture, compliance, and performance are the foundation here, not afterthoughts. You will be building this alongside our network and cybersecurity teams with genuine ownership of getting it right.
  • What You Will Be Doing
  • CI/CD and Developer Support
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve pipelines covering the full delivery lifecycle for our Node.js, TypeScript, and React codebase. When something breaks in a pipeline or a release goes sideways, the development team will come to you, and you will be the person who unblocks them calmly and effectively. Beyond day-to-day support, you will raise the quality bar by embedding good practices into the workflow: automated testing, regression coverage, reproducible builds, and documentation that people actually use.
  • Automation and AI-Driven Operations
  • We want a platform that monitors itself, detects problems, and recovers on its own wherever possible. When it cannot, it should tell us clearly and give us what we need to act fast. We want you to use AI tools actively and creatively to get there, whether that means intelligent alerting, automated remediation, generated runbooks, or things we have not thought of yet. Every repeated manual task is a candidate for automation.
  • Platform and Infrastructure Engineering
  • Own the day-to-day health and long-term evolution of our internal Azure environment: Kubernetes workloads, data services, storage, networking, and identity systems. Maintain the bridge between cloud and lab, keeping our Linux hosts and hardware systems connected and operational as the platform grows.
  • Security and the External-Facing Cloud
  • Work closely with our network and cybersecurity teams to design and harden the external subscription before customers ever touch it. Zero-trust access, network segmentation, secrets management, private endpoints, and audit logging need to be built in from the start. We need someone who thinks about security architecturally, not just operationally.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Why Join Us
  • The work is technically rich and varied in a way that is hard to find. You will not be executing tickets. You will be shaping how the platform evolves, with real ownership and real impact on both the team that builds the product and the customers who use it. We are a collaborative group that values good judgment, welcomes new ideas, and tries hard to be a team people are glad to be part of.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure, including ownership of production environments.
  • Azure DevOps and CI/CD: Strong experience with YAML pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, self-hosted build agents, Git workflows, and release management, including deployment across development, test, and production environments, versioning, and rollback.
  • Kubernetes and AKS: Practical experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production workloads using Docker and Helm, including configuration, networking, storage, scaling, and upgrades.
  • Azure infrastructure and networking: Experience managing compute, storage, virtual networks, DNS, firewalls, and connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience creating repeatable infrastructure deployments using Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent tools.
  • Linux administration: Strong troubleshooting skills across services, processes, permissions, networking, storage, and shared file systems such as NFS.
  • Scripting and automation: Ability to write maintainable automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
  • Application delivery: Experience building CI/CD pipelines for JavaScript and TypeScript applications, particularly React frontends, Node.js backends, and containerized microservices.
  • Identity and cloud security: Practical understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, authentication and authorization, role-based access control, service and workload identities, secrets and certificate management, least privilege, and network isolation.
  • Database operations: Working knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, and familiarity with NoSQL systems. Ability to manage deployment, connectivity, access permissions, monitoring, backup and recovery, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring and incident resolution: Experience with centralized logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerts using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or equivalent tools, with the ability to investigate failures across applications and infrastructure.
  • Technical ownership and collaboration: Ability to drive infrastructure improvements from design through production, document decisions, and work effectively with developers, IT, and security teams.
  • Advantages
  • Experience securing and operating customer-facing or external-user cloud environments.
  • Experience with hybrid platforms connecting cloud services to physical hardware, lab systems, or FPGA environments.
  • Experience managing both Linux and Windows build agents and their dependencies.
  • Practical use of AI-assisted engineering or AIOps tools for automation, troubleshooting, incident analysis, or operational improvement.
