the posting

  • Your mission Build the backbone of intelligent energy systems.
  • You'll develop backend systems that turn complex optimization algorithms into reliable, real-time decisions for industrial energy systems.
  • From the core APIs of our optimization platform to integrations with energy management systems, you make sure our platform runs fast, stable and reliable. Your work lets our customers intelligently control and optimize battery storage, photovoltaic systems, charging infrastructure and other energy assets.
  • This isn't a job building standard CRUD applications. You'll work on the technological core of our product, where architecture decisions directly shape performance, scalability and the success of our solution.
  • Develop backend systems
  • You'll design, build and improve the central services of our optimization platform. You'll work on core APIs, orchestration logic and the interfaces between our systems, always aiming for robust, high-performing and maintainable solutions.
  • Own APIs and integrations
  • You'll integrate external energy management systems (EMS), partner solutions and customer systems. You'll build clean, well-documented APIs and handle the problems that come up in real-world use, such as incomplete data, retry mechanisms and outages of individual systems.
  • Help shape infrastructure and operations
  • You take responsibility for keeping our services reliable in production. From CI/CD and our cloud infrastructure (Heroku / AWS) to monitoring, alerting and performance tuning, you keep everything running smoothly.
  • Make systems scalable
  • You design systems from the start to grow with our customers. You spot bottlenecks early, improve observability, and keep our platform stable and fast as complexity grows.
  • Deliver features end to end
  • You'll work in a small, cross-functional team with a strong on-site focus. You'll own features through the whole development process, from the first idea through design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Raise the technical bar
  • You bring your experience to the table and set high technical standards. You help shape architecture decisions, share knowledge with the team, and help backend engineering at EnopAI keep getting better.
  • Your profile
  • At least 7 years of experience building and running production backend systems.
  • Excellent Python skills and solid experience with FastAPI, asyncio, relational databases and frameworks such as SQLAlchemy.
  • AI-first mindset: you use AI and AI agents as a normal part of your daily development work to speed up boilerplate, tests and refactoring, so you have more time for architecture, product and hard technical problems.
  • Cloud and DevOps experience: you're confident working in cloud environments and familiar with CI/CD, infrastructure as code and running modern backend systems.
  • A strong sense for architecture. You build solutions that work reliably today and still scale tomorrow, and you know when pragmatism matters more than perfection.
  • Founder mindset: you take ownership, think like an entrepreneur and make technical decisions proactively instead of just implementing requirements.
  • You enjoy working with strong engineers, give constructive feedback and hold your own work and the team's to a high standard.
  • You value the pace of a small team and like working on-site in Munich, because fast decisions and close collaboration make a real difference to you.
  • You speak fluent, business-level German and English.
  • Nice to have
  • Experience with InfluxDB or other time-series databases.
  • Interest in energy systems, optimization algorithms or mathematical models.
  • Why us?
  • The pace of an ambitious startup where your ideas count and you have real influence on product and technology.
  • A competitive salary plus extra benefits such as the EGYM Wellpass.
  • The chance to make a concrete contribution to the energy transition through your work.
  • A central office right at Goetheplatz in Munich, with the option to work from home by arrangement.
  • An environment where you keep growing: together with a strong engineering team, you'll build innovative software, solve challenging technical problems and help shape the future of intelligent energy systems.
