The Role

The US is a key market for Gigs, and US Activation & Retention (USAR) is the team that helps it grow. We work directly with our US partners, some of the biggest brands in the market, to build what they need. The features you build have a direct impact on how fast Gigs grows.

This is not a role where you stay in one corner of the codebase. To get a feature live for our US partners, the team works across many domains of our platform. If you want broad ownership, direct contact with partners, and a clear line from your work to the company’s growth, this team is for you. Once here, you will:

Own complex problems end-to-end, working with our talented team to design and build robust, scalable solutions.

Develop innovative products that empower our customers to bring world-class connectivity services to their users with ease.

Uphold our high engineering standards, improving tooling and processes where necessary.

Design, build and maintain best-in-class APIs and services. Our primary codebase is a Ruby on Rails monolith, complemented by a number of services written in Go, Elixir and TypeScript. You don’t need to have deep expertise in all of our languages; we will give you plenty of room to learn and grow with your team.

Keep our platform reliable. You’ll build services with observability in mind from the start and take part in incident response.

Salary range for Senior Engineer : $220,000 - $275,000 (base salary) + equity

(The final offer depends on your background, skills, and how you perform through the process. We're open to considering mid, senior and staff-level candidates , which may result in an adjustment to the scope and compensation)

What We Are Looking For

You have experience designing APIs and building backend services. You enjoy thinking about systems, and you care about the quality of the software you produce.

You use AI as a core part of how you work, not an occasional shortcut. That means prompting agents with context and intent, reviewing what they produce critically, and knowing when to push back. You can explain the code an agent wrote, catch when it oversteps the ask, and form your own opinion on whether the output is actually good. You're curious about how the tooling is evolving and actively working to get better at it.

You enjoy building products from scratch. You care about finding the right solution to customer needs, and you’re comfortable taking ownership and delivering.

You love learning technologies as you go. You always want to find the right tool for the job, and don't only follow what you already know.

You care about more than just engineering. You need to see the business impacts of everything you do. You know how to make speed/quality trade-offs.
