ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly experienced Backend Platform Engineer to join a team supporting a large-scale conversational and integration platform operating in a complex enterprise environment.

This is not a traditional feature-development role. The primary focus is on maintaining platform reliability, investigating complex production issues, and supporting a highly distributed ecosystem of services, integrations, and data flows.

You will work in an environment where rare and difficult-to-reproduce production anomalies can occur across multiple interconnected services. Success in this role requires deep expertise in NestJS, Redis, and distributed systems, combined with strong ownership and problem-solving skills.

Location: Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)

This position follows a hybrid working model with 1 day per week onsite presence in Budapest . We are currently considering applicants who are based in Hungary and eligible to work in Hungary .

YOU WILL

  • Support and maintain business-critical backend services built with Node.js, NestJS, and Redis
  • Investigate complex production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues through resolution
  • Analyze logs, traces, monitoring data, and application behavior to diagnose system anomalies
  • Troubleshoot distributed systems, microservices, integrations, and high-volume data flows
  • Support and optimize Redis-based workloads, caching strategies, and platform performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in on-call rotations and communicate incident impact and resolution plans to stakeholders
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, observability improvements, and platform stability initiatives

YOU HAVE

  • Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and Redis
  • Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting microservice-based architectures
  • Proven experience supporting production systems and managing live incidents
  • Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with REST API integrations and distributed systems
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices
  • Ability to work independently in complex environments with limited documentation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Terraform
  • BigQuery
  • Event-driven architectures
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Conversational platforms or chatbot ecosystems
  • AI-enabled platforms and integrations
