About the Role

AspenView is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support an enterprise-wide data modernization effort for a client operating in a vertically integrated manufacturing environment. You will translate business requirements into actionable reporting and data solutions built on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure data services, working across manufacturing operations, supply chain, finance, and sales to ensure analytics deliver measurable business outcomes.

This is a contributor role, not a task-execution role. The team needs someone who questions whether the right thing is being built and says so. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), fully remote position within the United States, reporting to AspenView Delivery Leadership.

Eligibility: This position is covered under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR: resident in the United States and either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder). Status is verified during onboarding, and this requirement cannot be waived, sponsored, or satisfied by a visa-based work authorization.

What You Will Do

Requirements & Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with business leaders across manufacturing, finance, sales, operations, procurement, and marketing to define reporting needs

Document KPIs, metrics, dimensional structures, and semantic logic to support standardized reporting models

Analytics Delivery

Ensure Power BI datasets and dashboards meet business objectives: accurate, timely, secure, and actionable

Support validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new reports and data products before deployment

Data Process Mapping & Governance

Map current business processes, data flows, and dependencies across ERP (Dynamics 365 / AX) and integrated systems

Work closely with data engineers to guide the transformations needed to structure analytics-ready data

Help define data quality rules, governance standards, and master data requirements

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for automation, self-service analytics, and data democratization

Track enhancement requests and maintain a prioritized backlog aligned with enterprise strategy

Business stakeholders trust that Power BI outputs are accurate, intuitive, and aligned to KPIs

Analytics adoption increases through better usability and relevance of delivered dashboards

Data quality and governance improvements build trust in enterprise datasets

Manual data work is reduced and transparency into business performance improves

What You Bring

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience

5+ years in business analysis, data analysis, or a similar role

Strong experience writing functional requirements and BI solution documentation in an Agile environment

Proven ability to facilitate workshops, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and present findings to executive stakeholders

Technical Expertise

Power BI: practical understanding of reports, dashboards, datasets, and workspace organization

ERP & Operational Data: especially Dynamics 365 / Dynamics AX

Manufacturing Data: work orders, BOMs, routing, costing, throughput, and supply chain

SQL: familiarity with SQL-based data environments and the ability to perform basic data exploration and validation

Agile Tooling: exposure to Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps for backlog and work item management

How You Work

You hold a point of view and state it, including to senior stakeholders, and reopen decisions when new evidence warrants it

You ask why a process, data model, or reporting standard exists before extending it, rather than replicating a pattern because it is already there

You surface risk, ambiguity, and weak requirements the moment you notice them, not at the sprint review or at go-live

You work past the assigned ticket, propose better approaches, and leave the team’s practice stronger than you found it

You argue from evidence and change position on evidence; comfortable being wrong in public, uncomfortable staying quiet

Nice to Have

Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Fabric Link integrations

Knowledge of marketing and sales data flows and attribution models

Understanding of financial reporting hierarchies and cost accounting structures

Experience working closely with data engineering teams or within DataOps environments
