  • Role Summary:
  • Leads and manages all legal matters across Mexico and Central America , serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership. Provides preventive legal counsel, manages commercial and corporate matters, and mitigates risk across diverse areas including civil, criminal, labor, environmental, and regulatory law. Ensures legal compliance and operational integrity throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business partner to leadership, offering counsel on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Develop strategies to prevent and manage litigation across all legal areas.
  • Ensure corporate governance, compliance with national laws, and manage relationships with public and private entities.
  • Select and supervise external counsel to ensure cost-effective, high-quality legal support.
  • Support labor and employment matters, including union relations.
  • Promote legal, compliance, antitrust, and risk management best practices.
  • Provide training and implement continuous improvement within legal operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Attorney licensed in Mexico, with 10–18 years of experience , including time in multinational organizations.
  • Expertise in commercial, civil, environmental, and labor law .
  • Master’s or legal specialization required.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish ; Portuguese preferred.
  • Exceptional contract negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong judgment and strategic thinking under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and emerging Legal Operations/AI tools .
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage cross-functional initiatives.
