Compliance team:

We are looking for a motivated, ambitious and detail-oriented SME Compliance Lawyer to join our Legal & Compliance team. If you’re passionate about compliance, risk assessment, and regulatory standards and want to contribute to a strong AML/CFT compliance framework within the fastest growing digital bank in Mexico, this role is for you.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, detail-oriented work and wants to develop a strong foundation in legal and compliance operations within a fast-paced fintech environment.

Challenges that await you:

Own the day-to-day management of incoming legal and compliance requests, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented responses. This will be the core responsibility of the role.

Supervise the decision making process of analysts regarding the onboarding of clients and alerts in the transactional monitoring mechanisms within the bank.

Review, organize, prioritize, and follow up on requests received from internal stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the process.

Support the tracking and coordination of regulatory matters, ensuring documentation is complete and deadlines are met.

Develop and modify internal policies and procedures to cover the financial products and services offered by Banco Plata.

Conduct legal research and preliminary investigations to support the Legal & Compliance team.

Help identify applicable regulations and understand what actions are permitted under current legal frameworks.

Collaborate with different business areas to gather information required for legal and regulatory processes.

What makes you a great fit:

Bachelor's Degree in Law.

3+ years of post-qualification experience on financial law & inclusion, AML/CFT, administrative law, or highly regulated markets.

Identify and assess compliance, AML/CFT, sanctions, reputational, and operational risks related to financial products and services offered to PYMEs.

Advanced English and Spanish (mandatory).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with professionalism when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

Experience with Mexico's KYC/KYB regulation.

Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.

Nice to Have:

Exposure to banking and financial regulation.

Proficiency with transaction monitoring software.

Official AML/CFT certification issued by CNBV.

Experience as liaison between corporations and regulatory agencies.

Knowledge of the applicable regulation to Designated Non-Financial Professions and Businesses ( Actividades Vulnerables ).
