Verasonics is currently seeking a Senior Debug Technician for a part-time contract position . This position will be responsible for analysis, debug, and documenting rework instructions on an array of PCBA hardware designs for research ultrasound systems. The estimated length of the position is approximately 3 months, with work hours from 8:00 am-5:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Essential Functions:

Perform measurements and tests on Verasonics subsystems with a goal of identifying root-cause(s) for board-level production test failures

Localize failures to be addressed by rework technicians before re-entry to the production flow

Develop and document debug methodologies in support of resolving failure modes

Compile test and measurement data to help track failure modes and quality metrics

Work with the engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure proper prioritization, completeness of root-cause analysis, and sufficient documentation of corrective actions

Opportunities for minor board rework may present

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience performing hands-on electronics testing, measurement, debug, and root-cause analysis with micro-electronics printed circuit assemblies in a lab environment

Familiarity with ESD (electro-static-discharge) equipment and procedures

Experience using digital and analog test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and logic analyzers, to troubleshoot complicated circuit boards and validate schematic diagrams

Experience assessing analog/mixed signal circuits related to power development and distribution

Ultrasound and/or medical device experience is a plus

Rework experience is a plus

Requirements:

Requires an independent worker with strong analytical abilities, innate curiosity, and a strong sense of responsibility

Highly organized; accurate & detail oriented; results oriented; process oriented

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with ultrasound or medical devices is a plus

Experience working with software, hardware, and systems engineers is a plus
