Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• •Act as the technical authority for structural engineering across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• •Lead the design and coordination of structural elements within treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated infrastructure.
• •Provide expert technical input from early development and tender stages through to construction and handover.
• •Manage and coordinate external designers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• •Hands on attitude with strong analytical skills and ability to perform calculations using both relevant design codes and first principles.
• •Ensure integration between civil, geotechnical, process and other disciplines.
• •Identify, assess and manage technical risks and opportunities in collaboration with project stakeholders.
• •Ensure compliance with UK standards, Eurocodes, and Ferrovial engineering governance requirements.
• •Promote innovation, value engineering, digital engineering and standardisation of design solutions.
• •Collaborate with construction teams to ensure structural designs are practical, buildable and aligned with delivery strategies.

About You

• •Chartered Engineer (CEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• •Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure projects with significant structural scope, particularly within the water sector.
• •Strong background in reinforced concrete and steel structures for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• •Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary interfaces and complex project environments.
• •In-depth knowledge of UK design standards, Eurocodes and construction practices.
• •Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• •Desirable: Experience in designing and managing temporary works.
