About The Position
The Senior Designer is responsible for translating creative direction and campaign strategy into high-quality, compelling visual work across a range of channels and formats. This role partners closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional campaign teams to develop and execute creative assets that are strategically sound, visually distinctive, and aligned with client and brand standards.
The Senior Designer brings a strong design foundation, excellent visual judgment, and the ability to take increasing ownership of creative concepts from development through execution. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to produce high-quality work at pace with limited oversight.
Creative deliverables may include, but are not limited to, print and digital advertising, social content, infographics, one-pagers, presentations, email templates, GIFs, and other campaign and brand materials.
In this role, you will
Partner with the Creative Director and campaign teams to translate strategic and creative direction into compelling visual assets that meet client, brand, and channel standards.
Contribute to creative concept development and increasingly develop and advance visual concepts independently.
Collaborate with campaign teams to identify visually dynamic and audience-relevant ways to bring campaign ideas and messages to life.
Own the design and production of creative assets from initial development through final delivery, maintaining a consistently high standard of quality and attention to detail.
Prepare, resize, proof, and traffic creative assets for publications, paid media vendors, social platforms, and other external partners, ensuring all specifications and deadlines are met.
Partner closely with campaign and project teams to manage creative timelines, workback plans, content plans, and internal and external approval processes.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of creative requirements, specifications, and best practices across digital, social, print, and emerging channels.
Apply strong design judgment across typography, composition, hierarchy, imagery, branding, and visual storytelling.
Identify opportunities to strengthen the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of creative work across client engagements.
Stay current on evolving design trends, tools, platforms, and emerging creative technologies, including AI, and responsibly incorporate new capabilities into the creative process.
Contribute to additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree related to graphic communications, graphic design, art direction or another related field and recommended 10+ years of related professional design and production experience, preferably in an agency or corporate brand.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom, InDesign, etc.), Microsoft Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and other platforms.
Thorough understanding of how both to develop and to work within brand guidelines and maintain them.
A portfolio of past work demonstrating your abilities and describing your contribution
Ability to work collaboratively with client teams under tight deadlines and quick turnarounds.
Detail-oriented, can be trusted to deliver a quality work product with minimal oversight or need for revision.
Ability to digest difficult concepts and think of visually stimulating ways to display them.
Knowledge of AP Style Guidelines.

Work Location
This is a full-time position based in our Alexandria, VA or Chicago, IL office. Purple Strategies offers a hybrid model and seeks employees who are comfortable working in the office three days a week.
Compensation
Purple Strategies offers a competitive total compensation package with salary, bonus and benefits. Base salary for this position starts at $135,000.
