As the ABACUS Application Engineer/Senior Developer , you will:

  • Develop user stories as specified by the Product Owner, ensuring alignment with business needs.

  • Manage versions of the editor solution (core + Thales-specific customizations).
  • Deploy the solution as a Service on Thales Cloud environments (Google S3NS).
  • Document implementation and configuration of the user stories and technical stories for knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Collaborate with vendor (e.g., CINCOM) to gain autonomy and take full ownership over the solution.
  • Support continuous improvement of the ABACUS solution, including performance tuning and scalability.

Experience & Soft Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in integrating COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) software , ideally with CINCOM CPQ .
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to complex technical environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Open-mindedness and cultural agility to thrive in a multicultural environment (Thales operates globally).
  • Due to the nature of the work, English skills are required.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in CINCOM CPQ and Guru Management Studio (configuration, customization, and troubleshooting).
  • Proficiency in C# on .NET environments (development, debugging and optimization using Visual Studio ).
  • SQL Server (query writing, database design, and performance tuning).
  • Microsoft PowerShell (scripting for automation, deployment, and system management).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and code quality analysis (GitLab, SonarQube).
  • Cloud-based development and deployment (experience with Azure, AWS, or Thales internal cloud is a plus).
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies (familiarity with sprint planning, backlog refinement, and collaborative tools like JIRA).

At Thales, we’re committed to fostering a workplace where respect, trust, collaboration, and passion drive everything we do. Here, you’ll feel empowered to bring your best self, thrive in a supportive culture, and love the work you do. Join us, and be part of a team reimagining technology to create solutions that truly make a difference – for a safer, greener, and more inclusive world.
