The Role:

ElevateBio is seeking a Senior Director of Communications to develop and lead a proactive communications strategy for our growing, multi-site biotech/CDMO organization. This role will have a particular focus on transforming internal communications, helping employees understand our strategy, priorities, key initiatives, and how their work connects to the broader organization.

The Senior Director will serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership and partner closely with People & Culture (P&C), Commercial and Marketing teams, and leaders across the company. Here’s What You’ll Do:

· Develop and execute ElevateBio’s communications strategy, with a focus on proactive internal communications that help employees understand company

strategy, priorities, business updates, and how their work connects to the broader organization.

· Advise senior leaders on messaging, audiences, timing, and approach; draft executive communications, talking points, presentations, announcements, and other high-impact communications.

· Build and manage internal communications channels and rhythms, including town halls, newsletters, leadership updates, employee announcements, editorial planning, and communications for organizational change and key initiatives.

· Partner with P&C, Commercial, and Marketing to align internal and external messaging, while overseeing select external corporate communications and PR activities such as press releases, corporate announcements, media relations, and corporate messaging.

· Measure communications effectiveness using employee feedback and data, adjust plans to improve impact, and lead and develop one communications team member while strengthening structure, discipline, and proactive planning within the function.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree and 18+ years of progressive experience in corporate, internal, or strategic communications, ideally within biotech or life sciences.

· Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex business and technical information into clear, engaging communications.

· Demonstrated ability to develop communications strategies, exercise strong judgment, has professional maturity when working with sensitive or confidential information.

· Experience leading communications through growth and transformation, with a strategic yet hands-on approach to planning and executing high-impact communications strategy.

· Ability to influence without authority, build strong cross-functional relationships, create alignment among stakeholders, and bring structure, clarity, and consistency to an evolving environment.

· Experience managing and developing communications professionals.
